St. Norbert Splits Twinbill

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College split a pair of non-conference matches on its second day of action this season, defeating UW-River Falls 6-3 before falling to Elmhurst College 6-3.

The Green Knights earned a couple of doubles points against River Falls. Claire Hetzel and Hannah Keller defeated Delanie Otto and Krista Haglund 8-2 at No. 2. Erin Vits and Hannah Swajanen outlasted Delaney Osmond and Ellie Kreibich 9-8 (7-5) at No. 3.

Hetzel won a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (7-6) decision over Otto at No. 3 singles. Swajanen earned a 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (7-1) win over Haglund at No. 4 singles. Nicole Pfotenhauer defeated Lindsey Pennel 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5, while Hannah Keller needed three sets to dispatch Kreibich 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 at No. 6.

Against Elmhurst, Meg Witt and Morgan Moxon turned in an 8-5 win over Sarah Paist and Maddy Freeman at No. 3 doubles.

Swajanen rallied past Rachel Rettger 3-6, 6-4, 12-10 at No. 3 singles, while Moxon topped Freeman 6-4, 6-4.
