Green Knights Pull Away From Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College scored three late goals to salt away a 4-0 win over Monmouth College in a Midwest Conference match at Peacock Park.

The Green Knights (8-0-1, 2-0 MWC), ranked No. 23 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Poll, took a 1-0 lead when Anthony Masello scored off an assist from Evan Watzka at 29:07.

Masello's marker would hold up until the 74th minute, when Dominic DeMaria gave the Green Knights some breathing room with his third goal of the year. Max Censky assisted on the score. Griffin Hoerchner then scored for the first time this season, finishing off a Brandon DiOrio feed at 80:12. Ben Prange scored his 14th goal of the season with a penalty kick at 86:54.

St. Norbert outshot Monmouth 22-5 and held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Matt Pilewski made two saves for the Green Knights, while Cadan Glattback made seven stops for the Fighting Scots (3-4-1, 0-1-1).
