St. Norbert Loses Heartbreaker at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. - Monmouth College rallied from a deficit with two late goals to pull out a 3-2 overtime win over St. Norbert College in a Midwest Conference match at Peacock Park.

The Green Knights held a 2-1 lead until Monmouth standout Kara-Jade Gordon scored at the 83:52 mark. Gordon then scored the game-winning goal just 50 seconds into overtime.

Monmouth scored an early goal on a Jacie Reis penalty kick just 1:57 into the game. The Green Knights answered with a Madalyn Sanderfoot goal at 24:48 to send the sides into halftime square at 1-1. Sanderfoot then scored her second unassisted goal of the game with a marker at 52:34. Sanderfoot now has six goals on the season.

Monmouth outshot St. Norbert 23-18 but the Green Knights had a 7-5 corner-kick edge. Ally Magiera made seven saves for the Green Knights, while Kensey Arlt had six stops for the Fighting Scots.
