DE PERE - St. Norbert College's picked up a key Midwest Conference win thanks to the foot of Mitchell Scholz with a pulsating 2-1 double-overtime win over Lake Forest College at Schneider Stadium.

Scholz's converted with just 17 seconds remaining in double overtime after taking a pass from Logan Block and going on a run up the left side. His shot to the far post was true, setting off a wild celebration on the far side of the pitch.

The goal finished a hotly contested battle between the two tradition MWC men's soccer powers. Both squads battled to a scoreless first half. About midway through the second half, Lake Forest had two strong scoring opportunities but St. Norbert goalkeeper Josh Koleske turned away both drives.

St. Norbert (10-0-1, 4-0 MWC) would get on the board at the 75:50 mark when Scholz scored in a similar fashion to his game-winning marker, with Block again setting up the freshman for the score. The lead was short-lived, however, with Lake Forest standout Lucas Geib converting just 37 seconds later on a hard shot from about 20 yards out.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 14 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Poll, outshot the Foresters 16-10 and held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. The Foresters held a 23-16 nod in fouls, including 6-0 in the two overtime sessions.

Koleske made three saves for St. Norbert, while Tero Elias made three stops for the Foresters.
