St. Norbert Claims Wisconsin Private College Championship

GREEN LAKE - St. Norbert College won the Wisconsin Private College Championship hosted by Ripon College at Tuscumbia Country Club.

The Green Knights totaled 42 points to finish first out of an 11-team field. Beloit College was a distant second with 80 points. Edgewood College's Taylor Mair won the individual championship with a time of 23 minutes 55 seconds.

Erin Sorg and Kelly Heniff earned first-team all-state honors. Sorg finished fourth in 24:13, while Heniff was sixth in 24:38.

Lauren Talabac, Elisabeth Klumpyan and Tatiana Johnson were all second-team honorees. Talabac was ninth and Klumpyan 10th in 24:40, while Johnson was 13th in 24:53.

Clara Yoap earned an honorable mention accolade by finishing 17th in 25:21. Brianne Barta finished 38th in 27:12.

St. Norbert also participated in the UW-Oshkosh KollegeTown Pre-National Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne. The Green Knights finished 20th out of 52 teams at the highly competitive event which featured a national field of Division III schools.

The Green Knights registered 637 points. Gretchen Price were 60th and Graceanne Tarsa 61st overall with a time of 23:21. Abby Janto was 141st in 24:13 and Joyana Tarsa was 158th in 24:24. Alex Bruley finished 217th in 25 minutes.
