MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College junior Ben Prange set the school record for career goals by scoring the game's only marker in a 1-0 win over Cornell College in a key Midwest Conference match.

The game featured a pair of teams who were unbeaten entering play. St. Norbert now has the inside track on the MWC championship with two games remaining, with the No. 12-ranked Green Knights improving to 14-0-1, 7-0 MWC. Cornell had a 15-match unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 13-1-2, 5-1-1.

Prange's goal came in the 30th minute of a match that featured blustery conditions. St. Norbert had the wind at its back in the first half, with Prange taking a feed from Dominic DeMaria to finish at 29:25. The goal was the 46th of Prange's career, surpassing Tyler Merkatoris' 45 goals from 2002-05.

St. Norbert's defense took over from there, posting its fourth consecutive shutout and 10th overall this season. The Green Knights outshot Cornell 16-6 and held an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.

Josh Koleske made one save for the Green Knights, while Jerome Richards made three stops for the Rams.
