Green Knights Drop Exhibition at Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich. - St. Norbert College traveled to the Keweenaw Peninsula to get an early start on the 2018-19 season but ended up falling to perennial NCAA Division II power Michigan Tech 67-28 in an exhibition game at SDC Gym.

The Green Knights were plagued by 29 turnovers and shot 16.2 percent from the floor, making 6 of 37 field-goal attempts. St. Norbert was 16-for-24 at the free-throw line, while Michigan Tech was just 3-for-6.

Macie Zurfluh led St. Norbert with nine points, including a 7-for-8 effort at the free-throw line. Ali Hoeft and Jessica Boerner added four points apiece.

St. Norbert hung with the taller Huskies on the glass, finishing with a 35-33 rebounding deficit. Sarah Neumann had a team-high five rebounds, while Zurfluh, Boerner and Olivia DeCleene had four rebounds apiece.
