Green Knights Finish Off Sweep of Finlandia

DE PERE - St. Norbert College jumped out to a big lead in the second period and never looked back in a 5-2 win over Finlandia University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (3-2, 3-1 NCHA) scored three second-period goals after a scoreless first period.
Jessica Schlaff got things started with her third goal of the season, connecting at 4:13 of the second. KJ Wallace followed at the 8-minute with her second marker of the year, while Lauren Michael's fourth goal of the season and third of the series put St. Norbert ahead 3-0 at 10:45.
The Green Knights pulled away in the third period. Emilia Edmondson registered her first collegiate goal at 10:56, followed by a power-play goal from Wallace at 12:36.
Finlandia picked up a pair of consolation goals late, with scores by Roosas Siiki at 17:18 and a power-play goal by Abby Kolek at 19:52.
Michael had two assists to give her a three-point game, while Mary Laken added two assists for the Green Knights.
St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 40-24. Audrey Moore got the win for St. Norbert, making 22 saves in her first college game. Annah Smiddy made 35 stops for the Lions.
The Green Knights were 1-for-6 on the power play, while Finlandia was 1-for-5.
