DE PERE - St. Norbert College scored a pair of power-play goals and that was enough to be the difference as the Green Knights topped UW-Eau Claire 2-1 in a non-conference game at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (4-2), ranked No. 4 by USCHO.com's Division III Poll, held off a charging Blugolds (7-1) squad, ranked No. 5 by USCHO.com, in the third period. St. Norbert will host No. 1-ranked UW-Stevens Point at 7 p.m. Saturday to close out the weekend.

St. Norbert got the early lead when Roman Uchyn scored a power-play goal at 3:29 of the first period for his third goal of the season. That marker would hold up through first intermission.

Eau Claire responded midway through the second period when it picked up a shorthanded goal by Kyle Froese at the 11:23 mark. St. Norbert would regain the lead at 19:56 of the second period on a power-play goal by Riley Christensen, his sixth overall goal of the year.

The Blugolds would outshoot St. Norbert 12-8 in a tough third period, but couldn't solve goaltender T.J. Black in the final 20 minutes. Black finished with 22 saves for the Green Knights.

Brendon Gysbers scored two assists, while Christensen assisted on Uchyn's goal to both give them multi-point games.

St. Norbert was 2-for-6 on the power play, while Eau Claire was 0-for-4. Zach Dyment made 23 saves for the Blugolds.
