DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened the 2018-19 season in a big way with an 88-26 rout of Marian University in the opening game of the St. Norbert Tip-Off Tournament on Connie Tilley Court at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights will face UW-Superior at 3 p.m. Saturday in the championship game. Superior topped Carthage College 72-71 in the tournament's first game.

St. Norbert never trailed, jumping out to a 10-2 lead just 4 1/2 minutes into the game. The Sabres would get a conventional three-point play to trim the deficit to 10-5, but a basket by Olivia DeCleene and a pair of hoops by Sarah Neumann pushed St. Norbert ahead 16-5 late in the first quarter.

Marian would get another conventional three-point play to start the second quarter to get within 18-10, but St. Norbert would go on a 20-0 blitz to take a 38-10 lead with 1:33 left in the half. The Green Knights led 44-12 at halftime and 65-18 after three quarters.

St. Norbert had three double-doubles. Neumann would post 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Sarah Ratajczyk would registered 16 points and 10 rebounds. Macie Zurfluh finished with 17 points and 10 assists.

The Green Knights shot 33-for-64 (51.6 percent) from the floor and held a commanding 51-21 rebounding advantage.

Marian shot 20 percent (9-for-45) from the floor and was harassed into committing 33 turnovers.
