Second Period Dooms Green Knights at Concordia

MEQUON - St. Norbert College was even with Concordia University Wisconsin after one period, but a big second stanza by the Falcons turned into a 5-1 loss for the Green Knights in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Ozaukee Ice Center.

The Green Knights would pull ahead early when Rebecka Olsson scored her second goal of the season with a power-play marker at 3:21 of the first period, with Libby Barbato and Kelli Sorge assisting.

Concordia would draw even with a power-play goal of its own by Ellie Woodman at 10:44, with the first period ending in a 1-1 tie.

The Falcons would score three times in the second period, getting goals by Maddie Savage at 7:36, a power-play goal by Natasha Wanless at 8:24 and a Maddy Millar goal at 18:33. Wanless closed out the scoring with a goal at 7:50 of the third period.

St. Norbert outshot Concordia 18-16. Anais Aurard made 11 saves for the Green Knights, while Christina Pattengale made 17 stops for the Falcons.

Concordia was 2-for-2 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 1-for-5.
