Yellowjackets Sting St. Norbert in Tip-Off Tourney Title Game

DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't recover from a cold start while UW-Superior was red hot and rode its offense to a 74-57 win in the championship game of the St. Norbert Tip-Off Classic on Connie Tilley Court at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights (1-1) connected on just 1 of 11 field-goal attempts in the first quarter, while Superior (2-0) made 9 of 13 (69.2 percent) and ended up racing to a 22-7 lead after the first period.

The Yellowjackets, who shot 65.4 percent (17-for-26) from the floor in the first half, led 43-19 at halftime.

St. Norbert would get to within 20 points in the final minute, as the Green Knights made 10 fourth-quarter field goals.

Superior shot 44.8 percent (26-for-58) from the floor for the game. Hannah Norlin led the Yellowjackets with 13 points and was named Tournament MVP. Eva Reinertson added 15 points and also made the All-Tournament Team.

The Green Knights shot 39.6 percent (21-for-53) from the floor. Sarah Ratajczyk finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Macie Zurfluh added 13 points. Both were named All-Tournament.
