DE PERE - St. Norbert College and UW-Stevens Point skated for 65 minutes and could not determine an outcome in a hard-fought 1-1 tie in a non-conference game between the longtime archrivals at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (4-2-1), ranked No. 4 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, have now played four overtime games on the young season. UW-Stevens Point, ranked No. 1 by USCHO.com, remained unbeaten at 6-0-2.

Both teams couldn't get many offensive chances in the first two periods, with St. Norbert holding a scant 14-9 edge in shots after a scoreless first 40 minutes.

St. Norbert was able to get the first goal early in the third period, when Roman Uchyn banged home a rebound at 1:06. Peyton Frantti and Peter Bates were credited with assists. The Green Knights then killed off a power play, but the Pointers cashed in on their best chance just after the midway point of the third period. A Stevens Point rush resulted in the Pointers whacking away at a loose puck in a net-front battle, with Ryan Bittner poking home the goal at 12:13.

The Green Knights would get a power-play opportunity in overtime, but couldn't score. St. Norbert then won a draw in the offensive zone with 7.6 seconds remaining, but a desperation shot was just wide moments before the final buzzer sounded.

St. Norbert held a 26-20 edge in shots. T.J. Black made 19 saves for the Green Knights, while Connor Ryckman turned away 25 shots for the Pointers.

The Green Knights were 0-for-6 on the power play, while Stevens Point was 0-for-3.
