DE PERE - St. Norbert College mounted a furious rally late but couldn't quite get enough push as the Green Knights dropped a 3-2 decision to UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights trailed 3-1 late. Stevens Point called its timeout with 3:41 remaining after it iced the puck, and St. Norbert pulled goaltender Audrey Moore for an extra attacker. The move paid off as Libbie Doney scored the extra-attacker goal with 2:54 remaining to bring the Green Knights to within 3-2.

St. Norbert then had 1:38 of extra attacker time in the final 1:55 but couldn't net the equalizer despite strong pressure.

The Green Knights drew first blood as Lauren Michael scored from the point just 1:19 into the game for her sixth goal of the season. The Pointers would respond with three goals in the period, getting markers from Lauren Smith at 7:35, Dani Heitsman at 12:18 and Alana Achterkirch at 19:42 for a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Michael had an assist on Doney's goal to pick up a two-point game for the Green Knights.

Stevens Point outshot St. Norbert 26-21 in a cleanly played game that saw one penalty assessed against each team. Both squads did not score on their own power-play chance.

Olivia Schultz made 19 saves for the Pointers. Moore stopped all 14 shots she faced for St. Norbert in relief Anais Aurard, who made nine stops in the first period.
