Green Knights Draw With Thunder

DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened its two-game Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series with Trine University with a 1-1 overtime tie at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights took the early lead when Jessica Schlaff scored her 10th goal of the season with just 23 seconds remaining in the first period on, going top shelf to beat Trine goaltender Molly Scarborough. Letti Stafford and Lisa Lenell assisted.

The goal would hold up until midway through the second period, when the Thunder's Kailey Cameron scored a power-play goal at the 11:55 mark.

Each team would get a full power-play chance in the third period, but came up empty. The teams also had 1 minute 27 seconds of 4-on-4 team in the overtime session.

St. Norbert outshot Trine 31-21. Anais Aurard made 20 saves for the Green Knights, while Scarborough made 30 saves for the Thunder.

St. Norbert was 0-for-2 on the power play, while Trine was 1-for-4.
