Green Knights Charge to Ripon Invite Title

RIPON - St. Norbert College turned in an impressive showing to finish in first place out of 11 teams at the Ripon College Invitational at Willmore Center.

The Green Knights registered 181 points, eclipsing second-place UW-Oshkosh's 153 points. Oshkosh entered the week slotted at No. 8 in this week's NCAA Division III national ranking.

St. Norbert swept the top three places in the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run.

Sarah Duff, Sarah Wiseman and Brianne Barta turned in times of 59.61 seconds, 1:02.75 and 1:02.76, respectively, in the 400, with Morgan McClone finishing fifth in 1:03.90 and Sydney Olund in eighth at 1:04.87. Graceanne Tarsa, Kelley Gardipee and Joyana Tarsa wheeled the top three spots in the 800 with respective times of 2:18.69, 2:19.21 and 2:20.41.

The 4x200-meter relay of Peyton McCauley, Maureen Gillespie, Hannah Mader and Brittany Wagner won with a time of 2:01.21, while the 4x400-meter relay of Duff, Barta, McClone and Wiseman finished second in 4:11.57.

Audrey Makope was second in the 60-meter dash in 7.93 seconds, while Haidyn Mueller was sixth in 8.37 seconds and Emelia Lichty seventh at 8.41 seconds. Duff was third in the 200-meter dash in 26.74 seconds. Mueller was second in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.41 seconds and Anna Giblin was third in 9.69 seconds. Abby Janto took third in the 5,000-meter run in 19:24.19.

Lauren Rottier was second in the high jump at 5 feet 1 inch, while Hayley Winzenried was third at 4-11 and Sydney Moore fifth at 4-9. Graceanne Tarsa was second in the pole vault at 10-8, followed by Sara DeGroot in third at 10-2 and Kirsten Carrigan in fifth at 9-8. Katherine Wanie was fifth in the long jump at 16-10 3/4. McCauley and Morgan Pinardi tied for seventh in the triple jump at 33-4 3/4, while Kristina Herman was second in the shot put at 40-2 and Savanna Smith was eighth in 36-2 3/4.

Alex Bruley was fourth in the 1-mile run at 5:24.33, followed by Megan Cibulka in seventh at 5:40.41. Gretchen Price was fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:13.51, with Clara Yoap sixth in 11:24.53 and Alyssa Wegner eighth in 11:31.66.
