Quick Start Not Enough at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - St. Norbert College scored nine seconds into its game at Adrian College, but the Green Knights fell to the sixth-ranked Bulldogs 4-1 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Arrington Ice Arena.

The Green Knights got the early jump on Adrian when it scored just nine seconds into the game. Lauren Michael scored her tenth goal of the season off assists from Rebecka Olsson and Libby Barbato. The goal was one second shy of the St. Norbert record for fastest goal to start a game, with Ali Parker scoring eight seconds into a game against Concordia University Wisconsin on Jan. 23, 2013.

St. Norbert would have 1 minute 32 seconds of a 5-on-3 power play starting at 4:27 of the first period but couldn't convert.

Adrian would draw even on a goal by Tory Harshman at 12:42 of the first period. Harshman would score again to put the Bulldogs out front at 19:21 of the first period.

The Bulldogs would added a second-period goal when Kortney Diaz scored shorthanded at 10:59. Adrian closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal by Kelly O'Sullivan with 42 seconds remaining.

Adrian outshot St. Norbert 34-20. Anais Aurard made 30 saves for the Green Knights, while Denisa Jandova made 19 stops for the Bulldogs.

St. Norbert was 0-for-9 on the power play, while Adrian was 0-for-2.
