4x400 Relay Leads St. Norbert at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College earned a win in the 4x400-meter relay at the highly competitive UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights finished sixth out of 10 teams with 45 points.

The quartet of Sarah Duff, Morgan McClone, Maddie LeBrun and Joyana Tarsa turned in a blistering 4:01.86 to beat the second-place finisher by nearly a half-second. Three of those four finished in the top six in the 400-meter run. LeBrun was third at 58.33 seconds, followed by Duff in fourth at 59.05 seconds and McClone in sixth at 1:00.87.

Audrey Makope finished in second place in the 60-meter dash in 7.88 seconds, while Tarsa was third in the 800-meter run in 2:19.71.

Kelley Gardipee fashioned a fourth-place finish in the 1-mile run in 5:13.04.

The 4x400-relay "B" quartet of Katherine Wanie, Cora Purdue, Alex Bruley and Brianne Barta was eighth in 4:13.83. Savanna Smith was eighth in the shot put at 39 feet 7 inches.
