DE PERE - St. Norbert College kept its chances for qualifying for the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs alive with a 2-1 win over Northland College at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

St. Norbert trails Northland for the sixth and final playoff berth by two points heading into the regular-season finale. The Green Knights must win to overtake the Lumberjills, who would lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Green Knights in that circumstance. A Northland win or tie would end St. Norbert's season.

Northland got the early lead when Saylor Donnelly scored at the 3:58 mark of the first period, with that goal holding up through first intermission.

St. Norbert would get a power-play chance early in the second period, scoring just 10 seconds into the chance when Mary Laken scored her first collegiate goal by ringing the crossbar and getting the puck across the goal line.

The game remained tied until the Green Knights' Rebecka Olsson scored at 2:58 of the third period. The Lumberjills had a goal disallowed when a score was judged to have been kicked in at the 5:46 mark of the period. Northland would have 1:28 of extra attacker time but couldn't draw even.

St. Norbert outshot Northland 35-21. The Green Knights were 1-for-5 on the power play, while Northland was 0-for-3.

Anais Aurard made 20 saves for St. Norbert, while Gabby Suhr made 33 stops for Northland.
