Green Knights Finish First Season Fourth at MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College completed its first season with a solid fourth-place team finish at the Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championship held at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.

The Green Knights totaled 336 points, just out of third place behind Monmouth College's 379 points. Grinnell won the conference title with 821 points, while Lake Forest College had 741 points.

Ben Stolberg led the individual finishers with a third-place showing in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 46.97 seconds. Grant Gibson was eighth in 48.31 seconds.

The 400-yard freestyle relay of Gibson, Jed Galutira, Jeffrey Green and Stolberg placed sixth with a time of 3:15.68.

Peter Martin was seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:57.82. Jason Hunt was seventh in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:04.53, while Alex Cervantez was 14th in 2:13.11.

Jarod Meffert finished in 11th place in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:05.27, while Noah Barkes was 16th in 2:19.60. Green was 13th in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:24.24, while Brian Meyer was 15th in 2:34.03.
