Green Knights Finish Second at Midwest Conference Championship

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College had a strong second day at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship to finish in second place in the team standings at the event held at Monmouth College's Huff Center.

The Green Knights finished with 119 points, which finished behind Monmouth's 190 1/2 points. Illinois College was third with 104 1/2 points.

Jon Gregory was third in the 400-meter dash in 51.07 seconds and added a fifth-place showing in the 60-meter dash in 7.11 seconds.

Sam Stelloh was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds, while Noah Kleiman was fourth in 8.76 seconds.

Oren Kestell was third in the high jump with a height of 6 feet 4 3/4 inches. Ryan Priebe was fifth at 6-0 3/4 and Kleiman was sixth, also going 6-0 3/4. Karter Decker was third in the triple jump at 43-9 1/4 with Samuel Fletcher finishing eight in 42-0 1/2.

The 4x400-meter relay of Fletcher, Stelloh, Michael DeGroot and Greg Bernasek was fourth with a time of 3:32.29.

Joe Gasick placed fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:00.33, followed by Matt Holloway in sixth place in 2:00.48 and Peyton Janto in eighth in 2:03.34.

Matt McKendry, Bernasek, Lorenz Jordan and Ben Behling were fourth in the distance medley relay in 10:45.52.

Gabe Golubeff was eighth in the weight throw at 41-10 1/2.
