BOSTON - St. Norbert College's 4x400-meter relay advanced to the finals of their event with a strong performance in their preliminary heat at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.
The quartet of Sarah Duff, Morgan McClone, Cora Purdue and Maddie Lebrun fashioned a time of 3:52.50 to finish with the seventh-best time out of 12 entries, ensuring All-America status. The eight-relay finals will be held at 4:10 p.m. Saturday. St. Norbert finished two spots ahead of its No. 9 seeding entering preliminary competition.
Freshman Audrey Makope turned in a school-record time of 7.75 seconds in her preliminary heat of the 60-meter dash, but it wasn't enough to qualify for Saturday's final. Makope finished in 11th place overall, six slots ahead of No. 17 seeding out of 20 entries.
