St. Norbert Opens With Split

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - St. Norbert College opened its season with a doubleheader split with Crown College, losing the opener 7-0 before salvaging a split with a 10-5 win in the nightcap.

St. Norbert took control in the second game by scoring four runs in each of the first two innings. Max Van Boxel and Ben Kohl each had two-run singles in the first inning, while Jack Maastricht had a two-run home run and Kohl a solo shot in the second.

Griffin Jack had a run-scoring single in the fifth and Lucas Reynolds an RBI double in the seventh.

Maastricht was 3-for-5 in the second game, while Reynolds, Van Boxel, Kohl and Brett Reinhart all had two hits apiece.

Mason Sefcik earned the win in relief, allowing one hit with four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings pitched.

In the opener, St. Norbert was held to four hits. Reynolds was 2-for-3 for the Green Knights.
