Green Knights Open Season With Pair of Losses

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College opened its 2019 season with an 8-4 loss to St. Joseph's College of Long Island and a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Ramapo College of New Jersey at Osceola Sports Complex.

The Green Knights opened the game against St. Joseph's with three runs in the top of the first inning. Randi Morack scored on an error and Sarah Koltermann banged a two-run double. St. Joseph's countered with one run in the first inning and two runs in the third inning to tie the game 3-3.

St. Norbert grabbed a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth on a Carley Frauenhoff RBI grounder, but St. Joseph's would rally with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Ashley Zimmerman had the Green Knights' lone multi-hit game, going 3-for-3 with a double.

Ellie Olson took the loss, allowing five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in two innings of relief.

Against Ramapo, the game was scoreless until the Roadrunners scored two runs in the fifth inning. Ramapo added two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh for a 5-0 lead. St. Norbert scored its lone run when Morack scored on an Abigail Chada RBI single.

Morack was 2-for-4 to lead the Green Knights, who had five hits.

Olsen took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts in five innings pitched.
