St. Norbert Registers Two Wins In Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College swept its two games at The Spring Games with a 9-5 win over Ramapo College and a 6-3 victory over SUNY Cobleskill.

St. Norbert topped Ramapo behind a pair of four-run innings in the second and third frames.

After spotting the Roadrunners with three runs in the bottom of the first, the Green Knights countered with four runs on three hits in the top of the second. Ashley Zimmerman had an RBI single, followed by a Randi Morack sacrifice fly. Zimmerman and Taylor Ullman then came around to score on an outfield error.

St. Norbert extended its lead with its second big inning. Sarah Koltermann and Alyssa Sikora got the rally started with a pair of RBI doubles. Morack drove in a run on a popout and Carley Frauenhoff brought in another run with a bases-loaded walk.

Zimmerman added an RBI double in the fourth inning to round out the St. Norbert scoring. Ramapo scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

Koltermann was 3-for-4, while Sikora, Ullman and Zimmerman all had two hits apiece.

Emma Molenhouse had a complete-game win, allowing nine hits and three earned runs with three walks and three strikeouts.

Against Cobleskill, St. Norbert scored a run on an error in the first inning and then broke the game open with a big four-run second inning. The Green Knights scored four times on three hits and two Cobleskill errors. Ashley Zimmerman had an RBI single while two runs later scored on an error. St. Norbert also scored an unearned run in the third inning.

Cobleskill scored three times in the fourth inning but wouldn't get any closer.

Sikora finished 2-for-3 for St. Norbert, which had six hits.

Ellie Olsen got the win, allowing three hits with one walk and five strikeouts in four innings. Morgyn Zielke got the save with three scoreless innings, striking out three.
