Green Knights Win Twice For Second Straight Day

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College won two games for the second consecutive day after defeating Marian University 7-3 and UW-Superior 6-1 at The Spring Games at the Osceola Sports Complex.

The Green Knights have now won four consecutive games on a Florida trip for the first time since 2007.

St. Norbert got off to a quick start against Marian, scoring three runs in each of the second and third innings. Alyssa Sikora banged a two-run home run and Randi Morack had a run-scoring single in the second inning, while Taylor Ullman had an RBI double and Ashley Zimmerman a two-run double in the third inning.

The Green Knights added a run in the fourth inning when Sarah Koltermann plated a run with a double. Marian would score three runs in the fifth inning but would get no closer.

St. Norbert had 12 hits, with six going for extra bases. Koltermann, Ullman, Zimmerman and Carley Frauenhoff all had two hits apiece. Emma Molenhouse picked up the win by allowing seven hits with two walks and one strikeout in five innings pitched.

Against Superior, St. Norbert again brought out the heavy lumber with six of its 12 hits going for extra bases.

St. Norbert scored four runs in the first inning. Frauenhoff had an RBI single, followed by a two-run double by Koltermann and a run-scoring triple by Morgon Moxon.

Superior scored a run in the fifth inning, but Sikora homered in the bottom of the frame to put the Green Knights ahead 5-1. Frauenhoff added an RBI single in the sixth inning to close out the scoring.

Moxon and Sikora were each 2-for-3 while Frauenhoff was 2-for-4 to lead St. Norbert. Ellie Olsen earned the complete-game win by allowing five hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
