Green Knights Come Up Just Short In Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College lost a pair of hard-fought games, coming up just shy in a 4-3 loss to Springfield College and a 5-2 setback to Bethel University.

St. Norbert fell behind Springfield 4-0 after the Pride scored once in the third inning and three times in the fourth inning. The Green Knights responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Randi Morack scored on an error, while Taylor Ullman was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run. Carley Frauenhoff then scored on a fielder's choice. The Green Knights had the bases loaded with two outs but couldn't tie the game.

St. Norbert had two runners on with nobody out in the sixth but didn't score and was retired in order in the seventh to end the game.

Morgan Moxon led the Green Knights offensively, going 2-for-4. St. Norbert finished with six hits.

Emma Molenhouse took the loss, allowing six hits and four runs in four innings pitched.

Against Bethel, the Royals' Amanda Gemuenden smacked a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to snap a 2-2 tie.

St. Norbert scored an unearned run in the first inning before Bethel scored two runs in its half of the inning. The Green Knights tied the game in the top of the fifth inning at 2-2 on a solo home run by Allison Knop.

Alyssa Sikora had St. Norbert's lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4.

Ellie Olsen took the loss, allowing five runs and nine hits with three strikeouts in five innings pitched.
