Green Knights Bounce Back for Split With Ramapo

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College bounced back with a Game 2 win to gain a split of a doubleheader with Ramapo College, losing the opener 11-1 before winning the nightcap 7-3 at Lake Myrtle Park.

St. Norbert (5-5) trailed 1-0 early in the second game before tying the game in the third inning on Michael Larsen's groundout to plate Griffin Jack. The Green Knights then pushed four runs across in the fourth inning on three hits and three Ramapo errors.

Peyton Jack led off the inning with a double and then scored on an infield error. Sean Ferraro then scored on a throwing error while stealing third base. Jack Maastricht followed with an RBI double and Ben Kohl had an RBI single to give the Green Knights a 5-1 lead. The Roadrunners would score single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to cut the deficit to 5-3, but St. Norbert countered with two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Andy Peterik led off the inning with a walk and Lucas Reynolds reached on an error. After a sacrifice bunt, Griffin Jack drove in a run with an infield single and Kohl hit a sacrifice fly to finish the rally.

St. Norbert was held to four hits but coaxed eight walks and two hit batsmen in the game.

Nick Klavekoske worked six innings, allowing seven hits with three walks and seven strikeouts to earn the win.

In the opener, Maastricht drove in St. Norbert's only run in the sixth inning with an RBI double.

Reynolds was 2-for-3 for the Green Knights. Carson Jacques took the loss, allowing four earned runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
