Busy Weekend Includes Win Over Wisconsin Lutheran

RACINE - St. Norbert College participated in three dual matches this past weekend, including a 9-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College at Life Sport Athletic Club. The Green Knights also lost a 7-2 decision to Carthage College on Sunday and were blanked 9-0 by St. Mary's University Saturday at home.

The tandems of Claire Hetzel and Lauren Paulson as well as Anja Jacobsen and Nicole Pfotenhauer each earned 8-1 wins in doubles play. Hetzel and Paulson topped Amanda Wietrzny and Hannah Gerbing at No. 1. Jacobsen and Pfotenhauer defeated Natalee Douangvilay and Reebee Ratkowski at No. 3. The pairing of Hannah Keller and Hannah Swajanen eked past Sandhya Akella and Katarina Volkmann 9-7 (7-3) at No. 2.

Jacobsen led singles action with a clean 6-0, 6-0 win over Akella at No. 4. Hetzel bested Ratkowski 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3. Paulson defeated Wietrzny 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1, while Swajanen defeated Gerbing 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 at No. 2. Pfotenhauer swept Douangvilay 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, with Keller needing three sets to top Amanda Las 6-1, 2-6, 10-8.

Against Carthage, St. Norbert claimed a pair of singles wins. Jacobsen earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Hannah Haeberle at No. 4 and Pfotenhauer defeated Kira Mautone 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 at No. 5.
