St. Norbert Stopped by UW-Eau Claire

DE PERE - St. Norbert College was swept by No. 23-ranked UW-Eau Claire in a non-conference softball doubleheader by scores of 4-2 and 8-0 at Miron Construction Field at Mel Nicks Sports Complex.

The Green Knights (10-8) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the opener when Brianna Braeger and Randi Morack opened the game with a pair of singles, followed by a two-run double by Carley Frauenhoff. Those runs would hold up until Eau Claire scored three unearned runs in the fifth inning. The Blugolds' Gretchen Arneson then added a solo home run in the sixth inning.

St. Norbert had nine hits in the opener, getting two each from Braeger, Frauenhoff and Ashley Zimmerman. Emma Molenhouse took the loss, allowing six hits and one earned run.

In the nightcap, Eau Claire scored two runs in the first inning and six runs in the fifth inning to gain the win. St. Norbert had six hits, getting two apiece from Braeger and Whitney Baumann.
