Stelloh Leads St. Norbert at Wisconsin Private College Championship

BELOIT - St. Norbert College finished comfortably in second place at the Wisconsin Private College Championship at Beloit College's Strong Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 153 points to finish behind Carroll University's 233 points. St. Norbert outdistanced Beloit, which finished third with 93 points.

Sam Stelloh had a stellar afternoon for the Green Knights, winning both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles. Stelloh turned in a time of 15.64 seconds in the 110 event and fashioned the 400-meter circuit in 55.70 seconds.

Jaxsen Schermacher won the pole vault with a height of 13 feet 11 1/4 inches, while Max Schermacher was third at 12-11 1/2.

St. Norbert had five second-place finishes. Nic Greenlaw was the 100-meter dash runner-up at 11.47 seconds, while Joe Gasick was second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:11.08. Samuel Fletcher was second in the triple jump at 42-3 1/2, while Lorenz Jordan turned in a time of 34:02.14 in the 10,000-meter run to place second. The 4x400-meter relay of Michael DeGroot, Fletcher, Gregory Bernasek and Stelloh was second in 3:32.26.

Fletcher was third in the long jump at 20-0 1/2 and added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 52.79 seconds. Peyton Janto was third in the 1,500-meter run in 4:11.67 and was seventh in the 800-meter run in 2:04.90. Matt Holloway was third in in the 800-meter run in 2:00.56.

Noah Kleiman finished in fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.45 seconds and added a fifth-place finish in the long jump at 19-4 3/4. Ethan Sowl was fourth in the 10,000-meter run in 35.35.47, while Matthew McKendry finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:27.08. Travis Heschke was fourth in the long jump at 19-6 1/4 and added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at 39-4 1/2. Max Schermacher was fourth in the javelin throw at 144-8 and Kleiman was fifth at 143-7.

Eric Herman placed fifth in the shot put with a heave of 39-10 and added a seventh-place finish in the discus at 116-5 as well as an eighth-place showing in the hammer throw at 114-2. Braxton Thompson finished fifth in the triple jump at 40-1 1/2 and Bright Boachie was fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.74 seconds.

Evan McVittie was seventh in the 5,000-meter run in 16:58.13. Robert Tetzlaff finished eighth in the 200-meter dash in 23.95 seconds, while Bernasek was eighth in the 400-meter dash in 53.25 seconds.
