DE PERE - It took an extra day, but St. Norbert College finished a suspended game from a previously scheduled doubleheader the day before with a 15-10 win over Lawrence University at Larry Van Alstine Field at Mel Nicks Sports Complex.

The Green Knights and Vikings got just over two innings in before the game was delayed a day due to heavy rain with Lawrence holding a 6-5 lead. St. Norbert scored at least one run in each of the first six innings to take control.

St. Norbert took a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Max Van Boxel was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, followed by an RBI grounder by Brett Reinhart and a Michael Larsen RBI single. The Vikings responded with five runs on two hits in the top of the second. St. Norbert answered with a pair of runs in its half of the inning on a Griffin Jack two-run single. Lawrence scored a run on a wild pitch in the top of the third inning to take a 6-5 lead and the game was suspended at that point.

After play resumed, Jack Maastricht's two-run triple in the bottom of the third game St. Norbert a 7-6 lead. The Vikings got a run back in the fourth to tie the game at 7-7, but St. Norbert scored five times in the fourth inning to get some breathing room. Connor Yakel walked with the bases loaded, while Sean Ferraro and Maastricht each added two-run singles for a 12-7 edge.

The Vikings would score a single run in the fifth inning but St. Norbert added two runs in the frame on Brett Reinhart's two-run home run off the right-field scoreboard. The Green Knights took a 15-8 lead with a single run in the sixth on a solo home run from Maastricht. Lawrence got two runs in the eighth but couldn't draw closer.

St. Norbert banged out 14 hits. Maastricht turned in another stellar performance, going 4-for-6 with three runs scored and five runs batted in, finishing a double short of hitting for the cycle. Jack was 3-fof-5 with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Larsen was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Ferraro was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

Sam Hunt was credited with the win, throwing two hitless innings of relief with two strikeouts.
