Schermacher Sets New St. Norbert Pole Vault Record

DE PERE - St. Norbert College freshman Jaxsen Schermacher set a new school record in the pole vault at the St. Norbert Invitational at Schneider Stadium.

Schermacher cleared a height of 15 feet 1 inch to win the event and break Jordan Gobert's nine-year old school record by 1 inch.

The win was one of five first-place finishes for St. Norbert, which finished third out of seven teams with 118 points.

The 4x400-meter relay of Michael DeGroot, Ryan Priebe, Sam Stelloh and Jon Gregory won with a time of 3:28.28. Stelloh also earned a win in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.20 seconds.

Joe Gasick won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:10.30, while Braxton Thompson won the long jump with a leap of 20-5 1/4.
