Green Knights Begin Season With Split

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College began its 2019-20 women's tennis season with a split of two non-conference matches with a 7-2 win over UW-Stevens Point and a 7-2 loss to Edgewood College at Four Seasons Tennis Center.

The Green Knights claimed a pair of doubles wins. Lauren Paulson and Julia Slusarek defeated Jenna Koepp and Nancy Cozzi 8-3 at No. 1, while Bethany Zoch and Morgan Moxon defeated Anna Dobbe and Katie Bechard 8-5 at No. 3.

St. Norbert then won five singles matches to close out the Pointers. Paulson outlasted Koepp 6-0, 4-6, 10-4 at No. 1, while Hannah Swajanen topped Cozzi 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2. Slusarek bested Barbara Covek 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, with Nicole Pfotenhauer claiming a 6-3, 6-3 win over Lillie James at No. 4. Hannah Keller defeated Alison Bognar 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5.

Against Edgewood, Paulson and Slusarek earned an 8-5 win over Sydney and Ally Verbauwhede at No. 1 doubles. Slusarek earned the other win with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sydney Verbauwhede at No. 1 singles.
