St. Norbert Falls at Wheaton

WHEATON, Ill. - St. Norbert College fell behind early and couldn't recover in a 4-1 loss to Wheaton College in the championship game of the Wheaton Bob Baptista Invitational at Joe Bean Stadium.

Wheaton scored two goals in the first 18 minutes of the match and added a third just 44 seconds before halftime to build a 3-0 lead. The Thunder pushed ahead 4-0 with a penalty-kick goal in the 63rd minute. St. Norbert scored its goal when Seth Boldt scored off a Ben Prange assist at the 76:17 mark. It was Boldt's third goal of the young season.

St. Norbert outshot Wheaton 21-9 and had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks, but Wheaton goalkeeper Hasten Biddlecome made nine saves. Ben Holtzen and Matt Pilewski each made one save with both working one half.

The match was marred by nine cautions and 41 fouls, with Wheaton holding a 23-18 edge in that category.
