Green Knights Open Bethel Tournament With Win

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - St. Norbert College got off to a good start with a 3-0 win over the University of Minnesota-Morris at the Bethel University Invitational.

The Green Knights (7-4) clipped Minnesota-Morris, an NCAA Division III Tournament second-round participant a season ago, by scores of 25-21, 25-16, 26-24.

St. Norbert hit .246 for the match, getting 46 kills in 16 errors in 118 attempts. Grace Baumann led the offense with 17 kills, while Jessica Geurts added 12 and Lexie Van Hiel nine. Emily Rohloff turned in 40 assists.

The Green Knights totaled 53 digs, with four reaching double digits. Liz Maastricht had a match-high 16 digs, followed by Baumann with 11, and Rohloff and Emily Terry with 10 apiece. Van Hiel finished with five blocks.

St. Norbert continues in the Bethel Tournament Saturday with matches against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes St. Olaf College and Bethel.
