Green Knights Ninth at National Catholic Championship

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - St. Norbert College finished ninth out of 21 teams at the 2019 National Catholic Championship hosted by the University of Notre Dame at Burke Golf Course.

The Green Knights scored 283 points, which included finishing in front of NCAA Division I Detroit Mercy. Notre Dame won the team title with 18 points, with the Irish's Maddy Denner winning the 5-kilometer race with a time of 17:21.12. A total of 158 harriers competed the course.

Joyana Tarsa led St. Norbert with a 41st-place showing in 19:39.67. Bonnie Raechal Beres was 53rd in 20:02.91, while Lauren Talabac was 67th overall in 20:27.50.

Elisabeth Klumpyan finished 71st in 20:32.45, while Clara Yoap was close behind in 74th place at 20:40.28. Sydney Bartz finished 93rd in 21:08.29. Kelley Gardipee finished in 97th place with a time of 21:12.02 to round out the Green Knights' top seven finishers.
