St. Norbert Stalemates at UW-Superior

SUPERIOR - St. Norbert College and UW-Superior battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in a matchup of regionally ranked teams at NBC Spartan Complex.

The Yellowjackets entered the match ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches North Region ranking, while the Green Knights came in ninth. Both teams are now 4-1-1.

St. Norbert got on the board in the 11th minute thanks to an own goal by the Yellowjackets. Seth Boldt's shot was headed into the Superior goal at 10:05. Superior would answer in the 61st minute on a marker by Blake Perry.

The Yellowjackets were issued a red card in the 82nd minute, but St. Norbert couldn't pull ahead. Overtime was evenly played, with St. Norbert getting the only shot in the extra 20 minutes.

St. Norbert outshot Superior 15-10 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. Josh Koleske made four saves for the Green Knights, including a big save of a Superior penalty kick try in the 73rd minute. Dalton Von Kaenel made six stops for the Yellowjackets.
