DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended its winning streak to four matches with a hard-fought 1-0 win over UW-Whitewater in a battle of regionally ranked teams at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (9-2-2) came into the match ranked fifth in the North Region in the United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division III regional rankings, while the Warhawks (12-2-1) entered the match ranked fourth.

Both teams battled evenly through a scoreless first half, with Whitewater holding a slim edge in possession time 51 to 49 percent. St. Norbert had the better run of play in the last 25 minutes of the match and finally broke through in the 69th minute.

Mitchell Scholz carried the ball deep into the Whitewater defensive end before sending a pass through the crease to Seth Boldt, who converted at 68:11 for his 11th goal of the season.

St. Norbert had a couple quality chances in the final 10 minutes, but Whitewater goalkeeper Jake King made two difficult saves to keep the Warhawks within striking distance. The Green Knights' defense held down the stretch, enabling Josh Koleske to finish with a clean sheet behind a four-save effort.

St. Norbert outshot Whitewater 13-7, including 9-4 in the second half. The Green Knights also held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

King finished with six overall saves in goal for Whitewater.
