GREEN BAY - Kyle Jones spun his second consecutive shutout in leading St. Norbert College to a 3-0 win over UW-Eau Claire in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contest at the Cornerstone Community Center.

Jones picked up his fourth shutout of the season and his 19th of his career, extending his NCAA Division III career shutout record. Jones made 23 saves in the contest.

St. Norbert, now off to its best start in school history at 17-1-1, has a 16-game unbeaten streak and an 11-game winning streak. The Green Knights are 7-0-1 in the NCHA. Eau Claire fell to 7-12, 3-5.

St. Norbert claimed a 1-0 lead when Steven Sleep scored his third goal of the season at the 13:48 mark of the first period.

The Green Knights hung on to that lead when they had to kill off a 5-on-3 penalty for a full 2 minutes midway through the second period. Tyler Allen was whistled for a check from behind major and Marc Belanger was slapped with a roughing after the whistle at 9:28. St. Norbert killed off the minor penalty and was able to get 2 minutes of the major back when Eau Claire's Sean Garrity was cited for highsticking.

Marc Belanger scored on a blast from the top of the right face-off circle 5:04 into the third period for a key 2-0 lead. Belanger netted an assist on Sleep's goal to give him a point in his 15th consecutive game.

Jason Nopper scored on a beautiful drive to the net floating one past Eau Claire goaltender Tyler Brigl for the game's final goal at 9:42.

Brigl made 29 saves for Eau Claire, which was outshot 32-23. Both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.
