Three Green Knights Named D3football.com All-West Region

DE PERE - St. Norbert College had three football players named to the D3football.com All-West Region team.

Senior wide receiver Samuel Staehling was named to the second team, while sophomore running back Nate Ihlenfeldt and senior offensive guard Austin Rupiper were named to the third team.

Staehling, a Plymouth native, closed out his stellar career with a strong senior season, finishing with 46 receptions and 1,028 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Skill Player of the Year and is a three-time first-team All-MWC selection. Staehling is the St. Norbert career leader in receiving touchdowns with 42, is second with 3,112 receiving yards and is third in receptions with 147.

Ihlenfeldt, a Green Bay native, led St. Norbert with 857 rushing yards on 129 carries. His 6.6 yards per rush is the second-highest for a Green Knight since 1962. A first-team All-MWC selection, Ihlenfeldt had seven rushing touchdowns.

Rupiper, an Evansville native, was a third-team All-West Region selection for the second consecutive year. helped the Green Knights average 185.2 yards per game rushing. St. Norbert averaged a lusty 4.4 yards per carry. Rupiper, who played right guard, is a two-time first-team All-MWC honoree.
