Green Knights Can't Hold Lead at St. Mary's

WINONA, Minn. - St. Norbert College jumped out to an early two-goal lead but couldn't hold on as the Green Knights fell 4-2 to St. Mary's University in a non-conference game at SMU Ice Arena.

The Green Knights got the early jump when Gaby Turer scored a power-play goal just 4:34 into the game. The marker was Turer's third of the season, with Letti Stafford and Ava Jaschke recording assists.

St. Norbert would increase its lead to 2-0 when Libby Barbato scored at 9:12 of the second period, with Lisa Lenell assisting. It was Barbato's first goal of the season. The Cardinals would rally late in the period, when Courtney Moser scored at 17:35 and Delaney Calabrese at 19:42 for a 2-2 tie at the second intermission.

The Cardinals would pull away late, when Calabrese scored at 15:10 and Sophia Zebro at 16:54 for the final two-goal advantage. St. Norbert had an extra attacker for the final 1:40 but did not score.

St. Mary's held a 36-22 shots advantage. Anais Aurard made 32 saves for the Green Knights, while Ary Ziakas made 20 stops for the Cardinals.

St. Norbert was 1-for-2 on the power play, while St. Mary's was 0-for-3.
