St. Olaf Sweeps St. Norbert

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College saw its four-game winning streak halted by perennial Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference power St. Olaf College, with the Oles claiming a 16-5, 14-0 sweep of the Green Knights.

St. Norbert (5-4) scored three times in the top of the first in the opener, but allowed the Oles to counter with seven runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Green Knights cut it to 8-5 after the third inning, but the Oles scored five times in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Jordan Vater had a three-run double in the first for St. Norbert, and added an RBI single in the third. Garrick Fisher also had a sacrifice fly later in the third inning to round out St. Norbert's offense. Vater was 2-for-2 with four runs scored, while Jared Yost was 2-for-3 with a double.

Tony Jandron took the loss in the opener for the Green Knights, allowing nine hits and 13 runs with four walks in three innings.

St. Norbert was held to four hits in the nightcap. Trevin Hillesheim took the loss on the mound, allowing six hits and 10 runs in 2.2 innings pitched.
