Relays Shine for St. Norbert at UW-Whitewater Invitational

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College's relays led the way for the Green Knights at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Classic Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights won a pair of relays and took second place in another en route to a fifth-place team finish against top-notch competition with 53 points. UW-La Crosse won the team title with 167 points, while the University of Chicago had 147.5 points.

The 4x200-meter relay of Maddie LeBrun, Daijahn Brown, Emelia Lichty and Brianna Barta turned in a winning time of 1:46.19. The 4x400-meter relay of Barta, Brown, LeBrun and Morgan McClone won with a time of 3:59.12, and is currently the seventh-fastest time in NCAA Division III.

The distance medley relay of Alex Bruley, McClone, Nya Nazario and Joyana Tarsa was second with a time of 13:00.49.

Audrey Makope was second in the 60-meter dash in 7.86 seconds. Kelley Gardipee finished fourth in the 1-mile run in 5:15.57. Tarsa was sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:22.68, while Katherine Wanie was seventh in the long jump at 17 feet 6 1/4 inches.

St. Norbert had two finish in the top eight in the pentathlon. Lauren Rottier was fifth at 2,976 points, while Sarah Wiseman was eighth with 2,784 points.
