Green Knights Win Fourth Consecutive Game In Sweep Of Trine

DE PERE - St. Norbert College earned its fourth consecutive win by sweeping Trine University by a 5-1 score in a key Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (7-14, 6-6 NCHA) moved into fifth place in the NCHA standings with four games to play, with the top six making the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs. The four-game winning streak is St. Norbert's longest since an eight-game skein from Nov. 24, 2015 to Jan. 23, 2016.

St. Norbert's power play came through with flying colors, scoring on three of five chances. Two of those came in the first period as the Green Knights forged a 2-0 lead. Eve Parker scored at the 4:46 mark, followed by Libbie Doney at 16:00.

The Green Knights added to their lead when Jordan Moore scored at 5:15 of the second period. Parker again registered a power-play goal, her 10th overall marker of the season, at 12:54 of the second.

Trine's Brandi Wilson scored unassisted at 6:38 of the third period, but the Green Knights got the goal back when Lisa Lenell scored at 13:42.

Parker finished with two goals and one assist for three points, giving her four goals and two assists for six points in the Trine series. Moore finished the game with one goal and two assists for three points, while Doney had one goal and one assist for two points. Gaby Turer added two assists for two points.

St. Norbert outshot Trine 29-22. Anais Aurard made 21 saves for the Green Knights. Emily Nettesheim made eight saves in the first 25:15 for Trine, while Molly Scarborough made 16 stops in the final 34:45.

Trine was 0-for-2 on the power play.
