Green Knights Roll to Red Hawk Invite Title

RIPON - St. Norbert College got six first-place finishes en route to taking the team title of the Ripon College Red Hawk Invite at Willmore Center.

The Green Knights finished first out of 12 teams by racking up 178 1/2 points. Ripon was second with 117 points, while UW-Platteville was third with 102 points.

Maddie LeBrun won a pair of events, taking the 200-meter dash in 25.98 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 57.77 seconds. Audrey Makope won the 60-meter dash (7.84 seconds), Kelley Gardipee took the 800-meter run (2:20.83), Carolyn Neerdaels won the 5,000-meter run (19:24.30) and Sara DeGroot claimed the pole vault (10 feet 11 1/2 inches).

St. Norbert had four more thinclads finish in the top six in the 400-meter dash: Daijah Brown finished second (59.42 seconds), Brianna Barta was third (1:01.34), Joyana Tarsa was fourth (1:02.32) and Nya Nazario was sixth (1:02.49).

Sarah Wiseman, Kacey Topp, Emelia Lichty and Jennifer Nummi were second in the 4x200-meter relay in 1:50.70. Tarsa, Alex Bruley, Nazario and Morgan McClone were second in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:13.74.

Alex Bruley finished second in the 1-mile run at 5:30.60, followed by Bonnie Raechal Beres in third at 5:32.49.

The Green Knights had four athletes finish in the top seven in the high jump, with Sydney Spaeth finishing third (4-11 1/2), Lauren Rottier fourth (4-9 1/2), Emmy Larson fifth (4-9 1/2) and Hayley Winzenreid seventh (4-9 1/2). Spaeth added a fifth-place finish (34-9) and Larson eighth (32-9) in the triple jump.

Claire Van Beek was third in the 800-meter run in 2:25.52, while Hailey Ruplinger was fifth in 2:27.24 and McClone was seventh in 2:30.60. topp was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.72 seconds, followed by Anna Giblin in eighth at 10.12 seconds. Clara Yoap was fourth in the 5,000-meter run in 19:43.00 and Emily Beltran was fifth in 19:54.80. Barta was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 27.57 seconds.

Sydney Zima finished third in the long jump at 16-0 1/2. Emma Sweere was fourth in the weight throw at 46-1 1/2 and fifth in the shot put at 38-10 1/2. Winzenried was eighth in the shot put at 34-4 1/4. Rottier finished eighth in the pole vault at 8-6.
