DE PERE - St. Norbert College took control early and never let go with a solid 69-39 win over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights fell behind 3-0 in the very early stages of the contest but rattled off the next 14 points to surge ahead.

Jessica Boerner got St. Norbert on the board with a hoop and Hannah Gibbons followed with a 3-pointer. After a Hannah Ciesielczyk free throw, Boerner scored again followed by a Kaycee Gierczak conventional three-point play. A Gierczak 3-pointer with 3:55 left in the first quarter put St. Norbert ahead 14-3. Mary Cravillion's basket put St. Norbert ahead 20-9 after the first quarter.

St. Norbert would led 23-11 with 7:05 left in the second quarter before Beloit went on a 12-3 run to get to within 26-23 with 2:05 left in the period. A Macie Zurfluh basket would ignite an 11-0 run over the final two minutes, also fueled by a Cravillion 3-pointer and a basket by Zurfluh to end the half.

The Green Knights would lead by double digits throughout the second half, eventually taking a 52-32 advantage at the end of the third quarter after a Natalie Cerrato 3-pointer. St. Norbert would eventually lead by as many as 32 points in the final period.

St. Norbert shot 45.3 percent (24-for-53) from the floor. Gierczak registered a career-high 23 points, while Cerrato was just one point shy of a career high with 14 points.

Beloit shot 28.2 percent (11-for-39) from the field and committed 29 turnovers. Kelly Loudon led the Buccaneers with 11 points.
