Trio of School Records Lead Green Knights at MWC Championship's First Day

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College fashioned a pair of school records on the first day of the Midwest Conference Championship at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.

The 400-yard medley relay of Rachel Koch, Katelyn Holmstrom, Sophia Thompson and Clare Santas turned in a time of 4:12.00 to finish in third place and set a new school mark. Koch added an individual St. Norbert record with a preliminary time of 2:17.99, and had a finals time of 2:18.55 in the 200-yard individual medley to finish in seventh place. Koch's leadoff in the medley relay in the 100-yard backstroke also set a new school record in 1:02.79.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Kirsten Williams, Amelia Wilcox, Holmstrom and Santas finished in fourth place with a time of 1:43.15.

Holmstrom finished in 11th place in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:19.39, while Kristina Biundo was 14th in 2:21.32. Santas finished in 13th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.08 seconds, followed by Holmstrom in 15th place at 26.15 seconds. Natalie Norton finished in 15th place in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:38.96.

St. Norbert is in fourth place after the first of three days in the team standings with 92 points. Lake Forest College leads with 325 points, followed by Grinnell in second place with 232 points. Lawrence University is in third place with 123 points, while Illinois College is in fifth place at 87 points.
