Makope Sets Pace For Green Knights In 60-Meter Dash

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College had a couple of strong performances to lead the Green Knights at the UW-Whitewater Squig Converse Invitational.

The Green Knights split their squad, with track events going to Whitewater while field events competed at the Ripon College Invitational. St. Norbert was fourth out of 15 teams at Ripon with 50 1/2 points and was sixth at Whitewater with 36 points.

Audrey Makope led the Green Knights at Whitewater, turning in a second-place finish in the 60-yard dash in 7.71 seconds. The time is the sixth-fastest mark in Division III this season and is a St. Norbert record..

Maddie LeBrun finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.19. Joyana Tarsa finished seventh in the event at 2:19.21. Daijah Brown was fourth in the 400-meter dash at 59.95 seconds and added a seventh-place showing in the 200-meter dash in 26.71 seconds.

Lauren Talabac, Emily Beltran, Clara Yoap and Carolyn Neerdaels were first in the distance medley relay at 13:41.45.

At Ripon, Sara DeGroot was second in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet 8 3/4 inches, while Kirsten Carrigan was third at the same height.

Kacey Topp was third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.69 seconds, while Sarah Wiseman was fourth at 9.78 seconds and Anna Giblin sixth at 9.87 seconds. Sydney Spaeth was third in the triple just at 34-6 3/4, followed by Emmy Larson in sixth (33-5 1/4), Brittany Wagner in seventh (33-1 1/4) and Hannah Mader in eighth (32-10 1/4). Emma Sweere was third in the shot put at 39-0 1/4.

Lauren Rottier was sixth in the high jump at 4-11, followed by Spaeth in eighth place at 4-9. Miani Blackwell was eighth in the weight throw at 44-11 3/4.
