St. Norbert Picks Up Pair of Bronze Medals on Second Day of MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College's earned a pair of third-place finishes on the second day of the Midwest Conference Championship at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.

Katelyn Holmstrom finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.75. The 200-yard medley relay of Rachel Koch, Holmstrom, Sophia Thompson and Kirsten Williams finished third with a school-record time of 1:53.66.

Koch added a St. Norbert record in the 400-yard individual medley, earning a preliminary time of 4:55.44. Koch finished seventh in the event with a time of 4:57.11.

The 800-yard freestyle relay of Holmstrom, Clare Santas, Koch and Amelia Wilcox finished fifth with a time of 8:17.89.

Williams finished in ninth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.28.

Kristina Biundo finished in 11th place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:04.63. Wilcox was 11th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.85, while Santas was 14th in 2:05.09 and Crystal Schuster 16th in 2:07.70. Thompson was 12th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.32. Jennifer Kubowski was 12th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:05.17, while Taylor Lewis was 13th in 1-meter diving with 239.10 points.

Through two days of competition, St. Norbert is in fourth place with 219 points. Lake Forest College is in first place with 648 points, while Grinnell is in second with 599.5 points. Lawrence University is third with 314.5 points.
